Detailed experimental measuremets was carried out in the vaneless (vortex) region of a radial inflow turbine using a three component LDV. A viscous and incompressible axisymmetric computational code was developed to analyze the flow. The experimental and theoretical results were compared to obtain the degree of non-uniformity of the flow in the circumferential direction.
