The radial equilibrium of flow through nearly radial shock waves in supersonic compressors is considered. The most restricted useful cases for which equilibrium is possible are a normal shock in a rotor, an oblique shock in a stator, or a normal shock with variable total head in a stator. The equilibrium requirement restricts the range of solutions but many useful ones are still possible.
