The problem of correlating high temperature creep and rupture data has been considered in light of the most recent theoretical and experimental information. An evaluation of the equations most frequently employed indicates that they all possess one or more major shortcomings. An equation is proposed which is in better agreement with the experimental and theoretical information available. The rupture data for several superalloys and an aluminum alloy are correlated by means of the proposed equation. It is suggested that creep tests with incremental changes in the stress and temperature be investigated as a rapid method for evaluating the constants of the creep and rupture equations.
